Gemini Parkway Extension Project

The Gemini Parkway extension project constructed a new boulevard to provide access to the new IKEA store at the Gemini Parkway and I-71 interchange and promoted the redevelopment of the old Polaris Amphitheater area while providing another east-west connection on the south side of Delaware County.
This project included the construction of a new roadway from Orion Place to Worthington Road, including the realignment of Worthington Road, East Powell Road, Olde East Powell Road, and Olde Worthington Road.
The work also consisted of new sidewalks, shared-use paths, traffic signals, street lighting, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water lines, landscaping, and necessary traffic control devices.
TIS Responsibilities for the Gemini Parkway Extension Project
True Inspection Services (TIS) provided inspection of structures, asphalt concrete placement, concrete placement, earthwork, and materials testing.. TIS reviewed specifications, inspected construction of project structures including head walls, under drain installation, sanitary sewer trenching, conduit placement, storm sewer installation as well as landscaping. Compliance of safety, signing, and pavement markings were also verified.

Mr. Gieseke provided general inspection which included structures inspection, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork (excavation). Reviewed specifications, inspected construction of project structures including headwalls, underdrain installation, sanitary sewer trenching and conduit placement, storm sewer installation (catch basins, manholes, main and lateral pipe placement, backfill and compaction.) Observed and documented earthwork including cut and fill embankments, roadway, storm detention basins, ditches, and recorded compaction testing results. He performed concrete testing and inspection for wingwalls, headwalls, sidewalks, curb, and gutters and asphalt inspection. He documented daily equipment and the field workforce. He documented field weather conditions and verified compliance for safety, signing, and pavement marking. He also inspected and reported on landscape requirements and specifications.
